Be a Girl Rock Guide! - Onboarding Day April 6

One of the great aspects of our rides is that they are led by volunteer guides who are out there to ensure you have a fantastic (and safe) time!

  • Who should attend: guides and anyone who is guide curious (limit to 30 people total so we can get to know each other)

  • What: Learn about the role of a guide, how we plan to conduct guiding in 2025, and head out to learn a route, practice scenarios, and meet fellow guides

  • When: ~4 hours (1 hour learning from current guides and leadership; ~2.5-3 hour ride, return for a drink on GR)

There are many benefits to being a guide for Girls Rock... including:

  • It's fun and rewarding!

  • You get to give back to Girls Rock

  • You really get to learn the trails!

  • It's an opportunity to develop both riding and leadership skills

  • A reimbursement opportunity for development courses/events

Anyone can be a guide for Girls Rock! However, there are a few criteria we ask of people:

1. To embrace the mission of girl rock!

2. To have attended at least 2 girls rock rides in the last 12 months

3. To have attended a guide onboarding event...

Upcoming Women's MTB Retreat! | Peak Pursuits Presents Free to Roam | Sept 2025 at Kirkwood

Free to Roam is an event weekend away on your bike, with like minded people. This weekend getaway will be an exhilarating blend of adventure and community on and off the trails with all of us doing hard things together and then celebrating our achievements over trail talks, happy hour, and cool raffles.

Participants can look forward to group rides, ranging from challenging uphills to thrilling downhill descents, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone. Alongside the biking adventures, the weekend features a welcome party Friday evening, wellness workshops, bike skills clinics, a trail building workshop on Kirkwood trails, bike demos, delicious meals and an endless amount of time to connect with fellow riders. This is sure to be an amazing weekend that you won’t want to miss.

They are sponsored by Ibis, Flylow, Stio, and Sawyer and will be hosting their second annual retreat at Kirkwood, CA.

Their raffle is exclusively benefitting High Fives Foundation, an organization out of Truckee, CA that gets athletes back in the mountains after traumatic injuries. It’s shaping up to be a rad raffle- Ibis Carbon wheelset, Stio MTB kit, Flylow gear, plus a bunch of other items!

The event is open for ALL levels of riders this year. They will have beginner to advanced guided ride options in addition to skills clinics offered by Singletrack Mind. There are clinic options available for all skill levels of riders.

Their early bird pricing is live! Registration includes ALL meals.

They are also looking for Ride Guides for the weekend. Free admission to the event is given to those who volunteer. Here is the application link for ride guides.
